Magnets are made of a special kind of material. This material is called magnetic material.
What are magnetic materials?
They are
Steel
Iron
Cobalt
Nickel
As you can see, not all metals are magnetic!
Magnets come in different shape and sizes!
There are
Horseshoe magnets
U-shaped magnets
circular magnets
Ring magnets (not in picture)
and bar magnets
But all magnets have two poles; North and South pole.
How do magnets interact?

When unlike poles of two magnets are facing each other, the magnets will get attracted to each other.
Magnets can also attract objects made of magnetic materials.
Repel

When like poles of two magnets are facing each other, the magnets will repel and move away from each other.
Only magnets can repel each other.
