YTSS has offered Exercise and Sports Science (ESS) as an O-Level Subject to our Secondary 3 students from 2024. This has provided a good option for our sportsmen and women to deepen their mastery and expertise.

Overview

GCE O-Level Exercise and Sports Science (ESS) is an interdisciplinary applied subject where students would be grounded in the disciplines of sports science with an understanding of sports sociology.

The areas of study in ESS are as follows:

Theory Component:

2. Biomechanics

3. Sports Psychology

4. Sports Sociology

5. Motor Learning and Development

Practical Component:

6. Sports specialisation (1 x individual sport and 1 x team sport)
