Our 28 Prefects (24 P5 and 4 P4) confidently stepped up to be leaders and caregivers for our K2 visitors. They lead, serve and create activities for them. The prefects displayed The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership and our CZ school values. More importantly, they adapted what they have learnt in Temasek Young Leaders Camp and personalized it for the K2 students! Good job prefects!
Our P5 Prefects put what they have learnt in Scratch coding by creatively creating games to engage their P5 school mates during recess. Through the project, the prefects demonstrated resilience and critical thinking by problem solving on the spot. The prefects also collaborated with each other and confidently engaged their peers and even teachers!
Our Head Prefect, Lum Jie Le (6ST) and Vice-Head Prefects, Xiang Ying (6IN) and Gauri (6EM) led the prefects to spread appreciation for our transport staff at Tampines East MRT station! The prefects prepared hand drawn goodie bags to share their appreciation for the hard work of our transport staff. They also engaged the public with confidence to pen down messages for the staff!

Our Head Prefect, Aedan Tan (6EM) and Vice-Head Prefects, Ananya (6EM) and Zi Chee (6ST), led the prefects to set up a booth to spread the message of kindness and appreciation for the transport staff. The prefects engaged the public in activities to learn more about kindness as well as penning down appreciative messages to our hardworking transport staff.

On 16 April 2024, the P4 prefects led by Avril Tan (4RY) and Zephthah Heng (4ST) came together to express their heartfelt appreciation to all the support staff in Chongzheng. It was a day of celebration that was filled with happiness, gratitude and recognition for their hard work and dedication. Each staff received thank you cards and handcrafted gifts using recycled materials made by the students.
The highlight of the day was performances prepared by the prefects. After a short thank you speech by Mr Lim, Amelia presented two piano recitals, ‘River flows in you and 月亮代表我的心’. As her fingers danced effortlessly across the keys, the gentle and beautiful melodies filled the room that captivated everyone’s hearts and souls. Next was dance performances presented by the girls that uplifted the spirits in the room and finally, poetry recitation by a group of boys, bringing smiles to everyone's faces.

On 22 May, a team of prefects led by our Head Prefect, Hong Yi Kai, Eli (6-Excellence), went to serve the community by spreading the value of ‘kindness’ to appreciate the transport staff of Tampines East MRT station. The team prepared goodie bags to appreciate the transport staff and our vice principal, Mrs Ranjit, presented a token of appreciation on behalf of Chongzheng Primary to the station master.
The team then went on to encourage the public to pen down appreciation messages to the transport staff. It was a challenging experience as the prefects had to muster their courage to approach strangers. The prefects even saw their senior, Yuxi, our former vice head prefect, 2022!
Our P4 prefects celebrated and appreciated our school's support staff on 11 April, with the theme - 'A Heart in a Star', the prefects creatively designed goodie bag and snack box for our support staff. The team led by Lum Jie Le (4E) and Gauri Girish (4E) also put up a performance for our support staff as a finale! Well done P4 Prefects!
In collaboration with Singapore Kindness Movement, the team of prefects consisting of Jacob Lee (5-E), Aedan Tan (5-E), Stuti (5-D), Aaron Chin (5-E), Charlotte Fong (5-C), Maisarah (5-B) and Samarth (5-E) led the school through the conclusion of 'Adventures in Kindland'. The heroes of Kindland managed to retrieve the Kind Stone back from the Hunters and with that Mr Lim, our principal, officially launch the start of Project Be Kind. We look forward to nurturing our Chongzheng school mates to be kind!
Our P4 Prefects planned and celebrated Support Staff Day to show appreciation to our support staff of Chongzheng Primary! The Support Staff were treated to bento and snacks which were carefully selected by the prefects. After which, the prefects shared with the whole school on 'Empathy' to encourage everyone to be more empathatic.
Our Chongzheng Prefects went on a learning journey to show appreciation to the transport staff of Downtown Line - Tampines East Station on 24 May 2022! They were greeted by Singapore's very own kindness mascot - Singa! They also prepared gifts for the staff and shared with the public to show kindness to the transport staff of Singapore!
Our prefects are taking the lead to share stories with key learning points with their schoolmates. Taking the lead, Hong Yi Kai, Eli (5E) shared with his P1, P2 and P3 juniors on the story of 'The Stone Soup'. He encouraged everyone to share and collaborate and bring individual strengths to their classes.
Our prefects Hong Yi Kai, Eli (5E), Muhammad Zuhair (5D), Kannan Parvathavarthini (5D), Nur Sarah (5D) and Tay K-Loon Eijaz (5E) collaborated with our Scouts and Brownies to lead the school for our National Day Observance Ceremony 2022! The team showed patriotism and pride for this event! Good job everyone!
Our P4 prefects showed exemplary leadership by leading the K2 visitors for a Chongzheng experience on 25 August 2022. Our prefects demonstrated resilience, patience, care and independence in bringing our K2 visitors around the school.
On 17 October 2022, 10 P6 Prefects took on the role of bus safety ambassadors and shared safety messages with the public; focusing on the elderly. They distributed pamphlets and souvenirs of the events. They also took turns to run the quiz booth to raise the awareness of bus safety. The guest of honor, Mr Desmond Choo interacted with them and appreciated their efforts too! Thank you prefects!
