Our Adventures in Chongzheng!
A group of 10 prefects and 10 CCA leaders have embarked on a memorable trip to Ho Chi Minh City! The student leaders displayed remarkable resilience and independence during the trip! We hope they will bring back the rich learning to Singapore and share with their friends!
Our P5 prefects displayed a high level of empathy as they engaged the senior citizens to celebrate Singapore's 60th birthday! The prefects engaged the senior in the celebration through games, handicraft work and more importantly, interacting with them with dignity and empathy. Proud of our prefects for being exemplary!
The prefects were in for a treat as they get their hands dirty in shaping their leadership through art sculpting. The prefects learnt two different techniques and create their inspiration. Through the activity, the prefects learnt how The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership was exhibited during the process and more importantly, leadership was about taking actions. We thank our prefects for their dedication and contribution to the school!
Our prefects have completed the coding programme with our P4s learning how to create virtual worlds using Minecraft Education, P5s learning how to create games using Scratch Code and P6s programming robots. Through the programme, the prefects learnt to be critical problem solvers, a valuable skill in the ever-changing landscape. We look forward to their contribution as they share their learning with the school!
Our prefects went through a progressive 8 weeks of communication skills. With the aim to develop them to be confident communicators, the toastmasters programme challenges the prefects to step out of their comfort zone and be vocal of their thoughts. They also learnt valuable presentation skills like body language and tones.
Our prefects oriented our new CZ family members to the school compound as their guides and support for the day! The prefects led by Lum Jie Le (6ST) supported the P1 teachers and helping the P1 students to ease into the school. The prefects showcased The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership as a role model for their newest junior in school!
Our P6 graduating prefects were recognized by the school on 7 November 2024 in a ceremony to thank them for their dedication and commitment to serve the school. The P4 and P5 team leaders were also recognized for modeling the way for their respective teams. The school also witnessed the Head Prefect Handing Over Ceremony, where Aedan Tan (6EM) our Head Prefect 2024 handed over the school to Lum Jie Le (5ST), who will be appointed as our Head Prefect 2025. He will lead the school with Hu Xiang Ying (5IN) and Gauri Girish (5EM), our Vice Head Prefects 2025 and 'Imran (5ST) and Keane Koh (5ST) as our P6 Team Leaders. Congratulations!
Our P4 and P5 prefects visited NTUC Tampines Care Home to engage the lovely seniors and celebrated National Day with them! It was a meaningful and memorable experience for the prefects as they led the singing and designed games to engage them!
Our senior prefects took part in the first student leadership summit organized by Chongzheng Primary, East Spring Primary, Dunman Secondary and Temasek Secondary. Student leaders from all four schools collaborated, connected and created memories over interactive activities. Focusing on 'Change Management' on transition from primary to secondary, the student leaders also were developed in The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership. It was a meaningful and memorable experience for all!
Our senior prefects took on the role of a peer supporter for our P1 and P2 students at RWS SEA Aquarium. They led them through a guided tour and brought them around the attraction independently while taking care of them! Good job prefects for showing the values of a peer supporter!
Our prefects took part in the annual Tampines Learning Fest this year and spread the message of kindness as part of their Kindness Project. Through the activities and interaction, the prefects hope that the neighborhood will be kinder towards each other. The prefects also grew more confident as they represented the school to interact with the public!
Our prefects went through our annual cohort camp where the PEXCO co-led with the prefect mentors. The camp re-enforced The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership while developing our prefects in leadership competencies like innovative and adaptive thinking. Our prefects enjoyed the camaraderie and activities!
Our prefects went on a learning journey to discover how to help others and be an active citizen on 8 March. The prefects learnt how to use a fire extinguisher and important safety messages. We look forward to them spreading safety messages in school!
Our P6 prefects led by Aedan Tan (6-Empathy), Liew Zi Chee (6-Steadfastness) and Ananya (6-Empathy) planned and carried out the P1 orientation for their juniors joining Chongzheng family for the first day of school! The prefects served the school as tour guides and facilitators to orientate their juniors into the school! Through this opportunity, the prefects grew to be more confident and set to inspire their juniors to be exemplary leaders!
We partnered with Temasek Secondary School's Peer Support Leaders again this year to conduct a training on facilitation skills. Our prefects were inspired by the confidence displayed by the seniors and looking forward to put what they have learnt to use!
A group of P5 prefects were invited to Republic of Singapore Air Force Open House during the September Holidays! It was a day of fun and excitement for many of them as they went around to visit the different exhibitions and engaged in the games. Some of our prefects were also inspired to be a pilot when they grow up!
Our P5 prefects went to visit Tampines Care Home on 4 Aug to interact and engage the senior citizens. Through this experience, they were more aware of how to interact with senior citizens and develop a stronger sense of empathy.
Our P4 prefects went to Visit to Keng Chiu Loke Tin Kee Home on 31 July to interact and engage the senior citizens. Through this experience, they were more aware of how to interact with senior citizens and develop a stronger sense of empathy.
Our P5 prefects hosted and cared for our little visitors to Chongzheng on 10th and 12th July. They planned and led them through our school facilities and experienced classroom learning with our P1 juniors. Our prefects also created their very own 'Chongzheng Farewell' for them!
Our prefects come together during the June Holidays to learn more about the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership by overcoming the Trials of Olympus. Set in the mythical world of Olympus, the PEXCO and the teachers created interactive activities for the prefects to experience and learn! Congratulations to Eijaz Tay (6E), Zuhair Adnan (6D) and Justin Lee (5E) for being the Best Campers!

To recognize our prefects for their hard and heart work for their daily duties and to learn more about the practice of ‘Inspire a Shared Vision’, the prefectorial board went down to Doughworkz to have a pizza party!
The prefects had a hands-on experience on flattening their dough, laying out the ingredients and enjoyed their product! Some of our prefects also managed to get extra ingredients like cheese and sausages on top of the given ingredients as they managed to answer the questions posed by the enthusiastic instructor.

A group of prefects visited the Civil Defense Heritage Gallery and Emergency Preparedness Centre on 24 March 2023 to gain awareness of Singapore's Civil Defense Force history as well as learning how to be ready for various emergencies. Prefects had a hands-on experience of using a fire extinguisher through a simulator and walk-through experience of a smoked room simulating a fire emergency. We hoped that through this experience, they will be equipped with a readiness mindset to be an active citizen!
Our P6 prefects led by Hong Yi Kai, Eli (6E) and Deon Woo (6E) planned and carried out the P1 orientation for their juniors joining Chongzheng family for the first day of school! They helped the little ones during recess, organized a school landmark tour and during dismissal! Good job prefects for modeling the way to be exemplary role models for them!
Our prefects started their leadership adventure for this year with the Prefect Orientation - focusing on fostering friendships and teamwork. They were also presented with their very own Prefect Journal to document their learning and reflection subsequently for their development and were introduced to their teacher mentors for this year.
The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership were also made known to them to be exemplified as role models of the school. An activity focusing on 'communication' and 'Inspired a Shared Vision' helped the prefects to understand the importance of have a common goal as a Prefectorial Board. We look forward to see them in action this year!

A selected group of P4 and P5 prefects were invited to join Temasek Secondary School's Young Leaders Camp on 30 and 31 May! They learnt how to create and facilitate games and made lots of friends from other primary school!
Our P5 Prefects were exposed to the Exemplary Leadership Language conducted by Halogen on 23 June! They had a wonderful time learning the behaviours of Exemplary Leadership: (1) Be Good (2) Show the Way (3) See Things Differently (4) Do it Together and (5) Promise to Praise. We look forward to see them strive to be exemplary service leaders!
Our P4 Junior prefects completed their annual prefect camp on 3 June 2022! They learnt about what are the expectations of being a prefect and discovered leadership skills to booster their capabilities as a prefect!
Our School Leaders, Mr James Lim and Mrs Ranjit graced the camp and gave out certificates to our best campers!

To develop our Senior prefects and CCA leaders to conduct activities for their teams, we partnered with Temasek Secondary School's Peer Support Leaders to conduct a training on facilitation skills. Our Chongzheng student leaders were inspired by their secondary counterparts' confidence and clarity of instruction. They were also taught how to craft simple games using GRAPE, PETCH and FLOSS acronyms. We look forward to our Chongzheng Leaders putting this learning in action!
