Sharing of our reflections.
During the prefect investiture, I felt happy and proud of myself as I have come so far as a prefect. This year’s investiture was very special to me as I am appointed as the vice-head prefect. At the start of the investiture, I felt nervous but as the investiture went on, I gained more confidence. I feel grateful for my prefect mentors and parents as they have supported me throughout my journey as a prefect. When saying the prefect pledge, I remembered to give my best in everything I do. I will continue to lead by example for my peers and showcase the 5 practices of exemplary leadership in alignment with the school’s values.
I am honoured to have been appointed as the Head Prefect of our school. The prefect investiture ceremony was a significant moment for me, and I am grateful for the trust and faith that the school and my peers have placed in me. I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on my experience and share my thoughts with you.
This year's prefect investiture is special to me, as I had the privilege of taking on the role of Head Prefect, leading the prefectorial board of Chongzheng Primary. The event unfolded smoothly, with minimal disruptions, and although there were some minor mishaps during the marching segment, the programme proceeded seamlessly thanks to the guidance and support of prefect mentors.
Upon reflection, there were a few areas that could be improved upon. The organisation of the marching segment could have been more effective, and it would have been beneficial to ensure that all prefects were informed and aware of their roles and positions. Unfortunately, some prefects did not attend the rehearsal, which led to some confusion during the ceremony. Despite my efforts to brief some of them beforehand, a few prefects still appeared uncertain about their positions. To prevent this in the future, I aim to provide clearer instructions and ensure that all prefects are well-informed and prepared. Nevertheless, I am relieved that the programme ultimately proceeded without major problems, and I am grateful that the prefect investiture was a success.
In conclusion, the prefect investiture ceremony was a valuable learning experience for me, and I am thankful for the opportunity to have led the prefectorial board. I am committed to continuing to work hard and improve as a leader, and I look forward to serving the school and my peers to the best of my abilities. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to my prefect mentors for their guidance and support, and to my fellow prefects for their cooperation and teamwork.

“When I was looking at the video during the start of the ceremony, I really felt very proud and fortunate that as a prefect, we get to experience a variety of things. A nostalgic sense overcame me and I was grateful for what the teachers, mentors and even friends had done for me. From the moment Mrs Ranjit pinned the badge for me, I felt super important when a thousand pairs of eyes were looking up. I felt as if a bigger responsibility awaits for me and that I could overcome it. Looking at everyone reciting the pledge made me have a sense of unity, togther as one. Although many delays occurred during the ceremony, I was glad that the whole school recognizes me and my team of prefects. Through this investiture, I felt more responsible, united and proud than ever!” - Liew Zi Chee, 6 Steadfastness
“Overall I enjoyed the investiture. I got to know about some of the P5 and P4 prefects. I felt proud of myself during the investiture. Although I felt a little scared, I stood on the stage confidently. My parents were proud of me and my friends congratulated me. This investiture is very special to me as I was appointed as a Vice-Head prefect. I would continue to serve the school community and be a good role model.” Palanikumar Ananya, 6 Empathy
"I learnt to be patient as the Primary 1 students needed more time to understand a lot of things. Through my interactions with them, I constantly remind myself to be at my personal best and be the best role model for them. I engaged them through explaining and playing with them.
Through the interactions, I practiced empathy and realized how our parents would feel when they are taking care of us. To improve in future, I have learnt to manage my time better and be more flexible in carrying out the games. I am thankful for being a role model to our Primary 1 students and our prefect team overcoming this tiring but fulfilling challenge." - Micah Budihardjo 6-Confidence
After the Prefect Investiture, I felt exhilarated. This was the first time my schoolmates and parents got to watch the Prefect Investiture live. At first, I was nervous. However, as I continued with the flow of the Investiture, I gained more confidence and was not nervous anymore. My parents watched the Investiture on YouTube and were proud and happy. Both my parents and teachers also set higher expectations as they believed in me. I will contribute more to the Prefectorial Board and do my best! - Deon Woo Le Xuan (6-Excellence)
