Preparing for start of school

As you embark on your journey in KC, there will be three days of Orientation on 2, 5 and 6 Jan 2026 for you to learn more about the school as well as get to know your peers and teachers. Please refer to the following information:

Attire: CHIJ Katong Convent pinafore over PE attire or Your Primary School PE attire

Things to pack:

Water bottle
Stationery
Healthy snack for scheduled break
Money for recess / food from home
Note: The price for a medium meal portion in the school canteen is $3.

Purchasing Books and Uniform

Purchase of uniform and textbooks can be done online via the respective websites (links below) with the relevant instructions on how to purchase the required items indicated there.

To avoid the queues, parents are strongly encouraged to make your purchase online and arrange for delivery or self-collection at the school.

Please note that if you have accepted the offer to take English / Mother Tongue Language / Mathematics / Science at a more demanding level, you should ensure that you buy the books at the correct level.

Walk-in Purchase

The bookshop and uniform shop are open from Monday, 22 December 2025 until Wednesday, 31 December 2025 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.), except weekends and public holidays.

On the eve of public holidays, the bookshop and uniform shop will operate from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Smart Buddy E-Payment

Our school has implemented POSB Smart Buddy as an e-payment option in our school canteen and bookstore. This is in support of the MOU that MOE has partnered with POSB to extend Smart Buddy to all schools in Singapore. All our students can opt to make purchases with the smart Buddy Watch / Card, School Smart Card / Ez-link Card and other cards with the NETS Contactless logo for their in-school purchases. If you intend to use the NETS app on your mobile phone, do note that the mobile device policy still applies.

The POSB Smart Buddy Programme is the World’s first in-school wearable tech programme to enable a contactless payment ecosystem that helps cultivate sensible saving and spending habits among children. Paired with the Smart Buddy mobile app, all parents would be able to remotely manage their child’s daily allowances, track their spending and savings, and even set saving goals in a digital and interactive way.
