Under Full Subject-Based Banding (FSBB), secondary students can take subjects at three subject levels, known as G1, G2, G3. Students will have the flexibility to adjust their subject levels at appropriate junctures, based on their strengths, interests and learning needs. Students will subsequently access programmes and post-secondary pathways based on their various subjects and subject level combinations.
Offering subjects at a more demanding level
At the start of Secondary One, students will generally start with subjects at a subject level based on their Posting Groups, or at a more demanding level based on their performance in individual PSLE subjects. Eligible students can offer English Language, Mother Tongue Languages, Mathematics and Science at a more demanding level based on their PSLE Achievement Level (AL) for each of these subjects.
Parents of students eligible for taking subjects at a more demanding level, will receive an offer letter via PG by Monday, 22 Dec 2025.

Offering subjects at a less demanding level
At the start of Secondary One, students will generally start with subjects at a subject level based on their Posting Groups, or at a more demanding level based on their performance in individual PSLE subjects. For students who offered English, Mathematics and/or Science at Foundation level at PSLE, but are otherwise eligible to take most of their subjects at G3 when entering secondary school, they may choose to take these subjects at a less demanding level (i.e. G2), in consultation with their secondary schools.
Students who face exceptional difficulties coping with their Mother Tongue Languages (MTL) will have the option to offer G1 or G2 MTL. At the start of Secondary One, students can offer MTL at a less demanding level based on the following criteria:

Higher Mother Tongue Language (HMTL)
Students who have been offered to study HMTL will receive an eligibility Form A via PG from the school. Please submit your response by Friday, 26 Dec 2025.
HMTL Lesson Venues
Higher Chinese Language (HCL) is conducted in our school. For students who have not been offered HCL by MOE but wish to apply for HCL, please note that the school will make recommendations only at the end of Secondary One to students who have met the following eligibility criteria:
overall Sec 1 G3 MTL result is 75% and above;
consistent performance in Weighted Assessments and End of Year Examination; and
MTL teacher’s recommendation.
Higher Malay Language (HML) and Higher Tamil Language (HTL) are conducted at the respective venues:

HTL - Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Centre

Tamil Language
All Tamil Language (TL), Basic Tamil (BTL), and Higher Tamil Language (HTL) students are to register for lessons at the following designated TL centres (see below) between 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. on either Friday, 2 January 2026 or Monday, 5 January 2026.

G1, G2, G3 Tamil Language/ HTL - Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Centre (UPTLC)
For students intending to register at UPTLC, please email Mdm Norazian Mohamed Yahya (SH/Malay Language) at norazian_mohamed_yahya@moe.edu.sg on the first day of school and the school will register on their behalf.
Tamil classes will be conducted at designated Tamil Language centres from Monday, 5 January 2026.
Tamil lessons will be on either Mondays, Tuesdays or Thursdays. They are usually held once a week, starting promptly at 3 p.m. and ending at 6 p.m. with a 10 minute break. Please check with the respective Tamil centre regarding the Tamil Language timetable.
Third Language
The Third Language which students are eligible for are indicated in the Eligibility Letter and S1 Option Form. If a particular Third Language is not indicated, it means the student is not eligible for the Third Language. Students are to indicate the choices of Third Language via (i) the S1 Internet System or (ii) through her primary school. School will inform students of the results of their applications and registration matters for successful applicants via Parents Gateway.
Successful candidates posted to Malay (Special Programme) and Chinese (Special Programme) Zonal Centres or MOE Language Centre (MOELC) are to refer to the respective zonal centre/ MOELC’s website for instructions for registration to accept the offer. Places of students who fail to register by the stipulated date will be allocated to other applicants on the waiting list.
For students who are eligible for the Third Language but did not apply online previously upon receipt of PSLE result and now wish to apply in December, please collect the late application/appeal form from MOE Language Centre (MOELC). MOELC will only issue application forms to students who are eligible. Any late application will be subjected to availability of vacancy.
Music Elective Programmes (MEP)
Students who have interest, potential and passion for Music can apply for MOE's Music Elective Programmes (MEP) in the following MEP Centres from Sec 1:
• MEP: Anglo-Chinese School (Independent)
• MEP: Dunman High School
The online application is open from 2-15 January 2026.
Successful applicants will attend weekly lessons in the afternoon at the MEP Centre and are expected to commit to the programme for 4 years. Prior to application, interested students and their parents should work closely with the students’ secondary schools to coordinate their school timetable and commitments to facilitate their full participation in the MEP.
