ITE courses suit students with an aptitude for hands-on learning in three mega-campuses. Upon completion of ITE courses, students will receive work ready qualifications (Higher Nitec). The Grade Point Average (GPA) scores, which represent students’ performance in the programme of study, are considered for students’ progression to polytechnics or similar institutions of higher learning. Different Higher Nitec courses allow progression to different Diploma courses.
By 2026, all courses in ITE will be 3-year Higher Nitec courses.
Those who do well in the Higher Nitec courses (i.e. with a GPA of at least 3.5) will be guaranteed a place in a polytechnic course.
From 2028 onwards (applicable for the current Sec 2 batch), students taking 5 G2 (with ELMAB3 of 19 points or better) can apply for direct entry to Year 2 of Higher Nitec.
