Singapore River Fiesta 2000

Our Bowen military band and calypso group wowed the crowd through their performances during the Singapore River Fiesta on 22 July 2000. Our students who attended the event thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

The Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (SANA) PAL Programme

Representatives from Bowen were invited to witness the official launch of the Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (SANA) PAL Programme based on the theme ‘Let Me Be Your Friend, Be A Pal’ by then President Mr S R Nathan at Suntec City Exhibition and Convention Centre on Saturday, 19 Feb 2000.

SARS - Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome

In March 2003, schools were closed and great efforts were made to ensure that everyone will be safe when they return. Bowen experienced its first index case. Minister for Education, RAdm Teo Chee Hean visited the school on 11 April 2003 as it prepared itself for re-opening.

Band Performance at 38th National Day Parade

It is a day that will live in memories for the rest of our lives as we were bestowed with the singular honour of heralding our Nation’s Birthday celebrations with a gala opening performance.

First Asian Youth Games 2009

The First Asian Youth Games torch relay started on 28 June 2009 and on 29 June, the torch relay resumed for its school leg. This leg travelled to 45 schools in Singapore, including Bowen Secondary School.
