Shoes: Shoelaces Tied and Make sure to find one that fits and is comfortable.
Stay hydrated. Consider drinking 2 cups of water about 15 minutes prior to your run, and if running a long distance (>30 minutes) make sure to have water with you or accessible on your route.
Avoid running during midday when its very hot out.
Watch out for Uneven Surfaces
If possible, run with an adult. If running alone, make sure that you have emergency info of your family members kept on you. Make sure someone knows your planned route and approximate time you will return.
Warm up gently and stretch before your run.
Always stop for vehicles at intersections. Don't assume that cars will stop for you.
Obey all traffic rules and signals.
