FAQ

Who are we?

The ISC student organizing committee comprises 29 friendly, fun and caring students from Chung Ling High School. We are guided by a team of dedicated teachers from Chung Ling High School and we're excited to have you for our annual ISC. This year, we will be organising STSY 2024.

What can I look forward to?

As your committees, we have planned an exciting array of activities, including a Science Quest. What you have seen in the Programme Overview is just a slight preview of what you can experience here. It is our greatest hope that you'll not just take away valuable scientific insights from the camp, and the souvenirs prepared by our committees, but also long-lasting friendships with people all over the world.

What is a typical day like?

We believe the 4 days of STSY will be an exciting and enriching experience for you. You can look forward to the cultural exhibition, learning and experiencing the vibrant and unique cultures of each and every participant from various countries. On a typical day, you can expect fun team bonding activities and science quest sessions, and an opportunity to visit Penang's unique tourist spots and hands-on experience our culture. Get ready for an unforgettable journey of learning and discovery!

Where will I be staying?

All delegates and educators will be housed at a hotel named Mercure Hotel Penang.

505 Jalan Tanjung Bungah, TANJUNG BUNGAH
11200 PENANG
MALAYSIA

GPS:5.4638, 100.3019

Will I be sharing rooms with other participants?

Yes, you will. Each hotel room will accommodate a maximum of 5 or 6 person. That means everyone will have a roommate during the camp. We sincerely hope that everyone can build strong relationships with their roommates.

Is there a need to bring bath towels/bed sheets?

Bed sheets, toiletries and towels will be provided already upon check-in to the hotel. However, do note that you can choose to bring your own toiletries for the course of STSY.

What about safety/security?

Chung Ling High School is manned by security personnel throughout the day. All visitors are strictly screened before entering. The hotels will also be patrolled by our committee throughout the night. Hence, there is nothing to be worried about safety issues.

How much money do I need to bring to the camp?

All programme and transportation costs are covered. However, not all meals are covered since there are free and easy sessions throughout the camp. Hence, it is a must to bring some money to cover 2 to 3 meals. You may also wish to bring extra money to purchase additional items from the tourist spots for an instance souvenirs and gift items.
