SMK Seri Tualang appreciate the individuality of all students and give them the opportunity to achieve the highest standards in education in line with the vision and mission of the school as well as taking into account the background and the Special Educational Needs (SEN) of students. This policy covers all gender, religion, ethnicity, academic performance, age and some medical condition.

Develop and implements an inclusion or special educational needs policy that is consistent with IB expectation and also in line with the national education philosophy monitored by the stakeholder.
1. Identify Students With Special Needs.
Teachers can identify students with special needs in their class through observation, oral assessment, formative or summative testing, question and answer and presentation of assignments. After identifying the students involved, teachers can plan and provide different learning environments and strategies according to their interests so that these students can achieve the same goals as other students.
2. Students With Special Needs:
The main focus in policy inclusive at SMK Seri Tualang is to help students overcome learning problems either in or out of the classroom by providing a learning environment that can be accepted by each individual based on the differences they have. This can be achieved with different methods or strategies that can be applied by teachers by using appropriate and interesting materials to achieve learning objectives. The physical atmosphere of the classroom is also arranged so that students can learn in a conducive environment. This can be achieved not only through the school curriculum unit, but also the student affairs unit and the co -curriculum unit to help carry out this policy to achieve its goals.
Among the procedures taken are ;
teaching in the classroom using student -centered learning using a toolkit that contains a variety of learning methods.
conducting enrichment and remedial activities for students who have and have not mastered a learning unit.
providing a platform for students to present their speech talents in a chivalric corner space in line with the HIP program. (Highly Immersive Program)
provide an access room where students can use it to search for information and explore information to complete assignments.
creating DLP (Dual Language Program) classes to strengthen English language proficiency among students, especially in science and mathematics subjects.
hold special academic guidance classes to help students who have dropped out and are currently underperforming.
running the Transformasi Asrama Harian (TAH) program which involves the academic classes of dormitory students during preparation time
provide study modules by subject when something unavoidable happens where face -to -face classes cannot be conducted.
the hostel provides all the facilities and equipment so that students are comfortable living in the hostel and do not disturb their concentration on lessons.
Student involvement in clubs under academic co -curriculum such as STEM, Robotics, Science and Mathematics Olympiad.
The focus is also to provide special counseling services and guidance to pupils with special needs in the school . This focus is also emphasized in terms of welfare, comfort, soft skills and career direction pupils with special needs. Students are encouraged to accept, assist and always provide help to students with special needs.
3. Student Profile Management:
The focus is to provide student profile database that aims to make an analysis on issues related to students. With this analysis, action to help and prevent any possible issues more effectively, through this focus, school counselor shall:
Provide records profile show student progress in each assessment made.
ii. Provide each student's career profile.
4. Individual & Group Counseling:
Counseling Services Individual and group counseling is a Main Work Targets of school counselor. Students get individual counseling or group at any time during the school day, including teaching and learning (T&L).
5. Peer Counselor Skills Development (PRS):
The focus is to help improve the skills and soft skills (generic skills) all members of the Peer Counselor. School counselor should:
a) Carry out skills training to students who become PRS
b) Train the PRS to be able to play the role of helping the peer concept of 'Help Yourself to Help Others' with
i. PRS as a role model to others
ii. To encourage friends to be positive
iii. Become a friend who is sensitive to the feelings of others
6. Review of the performance of special educational needs students.
Assessments will be made to students at least 2 times a year and reporting will be made to parents and students themselves. A solution will be taken to improve and meet the needs of the students.
