Join me on an exciting journey as I explore the intricacies of implementing flipped learning in the classroom. Through multimedia elements like videos, images, and written reflections, you'll gain insights into the challenges and successes I encountered along the way. Witness firsthand the evolution of my pedagogical practice, and learn how I transformed my teaching style to better engage and inspire my students.
Despite teaching students who are not technologically-privileged, I am doing all I can to incorporate technology whenever I have the opportunity by using it in my teaching induction set or as part of the Classroom-based Assessment (CBA). As for my Form 5 students, more technological incorporation is needed as teachers are expected to finish the syllabus earlier this year. Therefore, making joining Google Classroom and Telegram Channel compulsory for them are the two ways I could do to ensure the goal can be achieved. At the same time, students get to immerse themselves in technology and utilize it as a tool to enhance their studies. After all, it will prepare them to learn independently in the future.
Definitely. This is because when teachers integrate different technology levels, they are actually tailoring the lesson to cater to students with different learning abilities and intelligence. By doing so, students can take responsibility to learn in their own time and probably will discover more than what is intended by the teacher during the whole process of learning. Most students nowadays are technologically-driven and they love experiencing new lesson using technology rather than the conventional chalk and talk. On the contrary, teachers at times struggle with under privileged students who are adamant in not wanting to change despite many preparations and support given to them.
Flipped classroom is a method used to introduce a lesson prior to the actual lesson by using means of videos, simulations or other multimedia supported materials. Students who are prepared will likely pay more attention during the in class lesson, eventually helping the teacher to achieve his/her learning objectives.
Teachers can opt to use it as a pre-lesson material for their next lesson. This helps prepare students with some basic content knowledge prior to the lesson and is useful for them so as to enhance their understanding of the lesson. Teachers, on one hand, can introduce mediums like Google Classroom or Telegram Channel in flipping the classroom. On the other hand, they can utilize readily available resources on apps like YouTube and TikTok or learning websites like https://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/
