As Soon as Possible:
□ Reach out to Jessie Dockins, school programs coordinator, at jdockins@mobot.org, to schedule your trip!
□ Recruit 1 or more chaperones for each cabin and activity group.
□ Arrange for transportation to and from the DBOC.
1 Month Before Trip:
□ Confirm the final number of participating students and chaperones. Notify the DBOC of any changes.
□ Share the trip schedule with fellow teachers and chaperones.
□ Consider hosting a meeting with chaperones to prepare them for your trip.
□ Distribute packing lists and other information to parents.
□ Assign students to cabins.
□ Create a meal plan, assigning students and chaperones to assist.
1 Week Before Trip:
□ Jessie Dockins, your DBOC school programs coordinator, will reach out to check if you have any questions and/or if there are any changes to students numbers, arrival/departure time, etc.
Morning of Trip:
□ Collect student medications, inhalers, and necessary medical information.
□ Pack luggage (tag luggage by cabin for large groups).
□ If your group’s arrival time changes and/or if you have any questions, call/text the DBOC at (314) 330-9079.
DBOC Arrival:
□ DBOC staff will be outside to greet you.
□ DBOC staff will ask students to unload luggage to the porches of their cabins. Students will wait on porches for staff to lead cabin tours and fire drills.
□ Teachers and chaperones will help students move into cabins and get settled.
□ Please give participant forms to DBOC staff.
DBOC Departure:
□ Have students pack and move luggage to the dining hall by 9 AM.
□ Have students tidy cabins, shower house, and meeting building. Each building contains a cleaning checklist.
□ Please double-check that all buildings are tidy and that no personal belongings are left behind.
□ Load luggage onto bus.
□ Relax, you did a great job!
