Introductory Video: As you watch this video, ask yourself, "How well do my students evaluate text and write argumentative essays?"
This workshop is split into 9 sections (listed below). Each section will ask you to engage with materials, think about the learning, and write responses. Your written responses will be submitted once you have finished the entire course. Completing the workshop will provide you with 6 CTLE hours, plus the opportunity to earn 6 additional CTLE hours if you choose to do so.
Begin by watching the introductory video to the left, then move down the page for further directions.
Please reach out to Jonathan Cornue jcornue@moboces.org (315.361.5544) or Maria Papa mpapa@moboces.org (315.361.5557) if you have any questions.
Step 1. Begin by making yourself a Google folder titled "2025 Literate History - [Your Last Name]." For example, my folder would be titled 2025 Literate History - Cornue.
Step 2. Each section of this course contains both materials and tasks. Not all tasks will need to be submitted, but those that do will clearly ask you to create a separate document. Each of these documents should be saved in your 2025 Literate History folder.
You will notice that the tasks are very flexible. What matters most to us is that you get something useful out of this workshop. We recognize that artificial intelligence (A.I.) is a integrated part of our world now. Feel free to use it as you see fit, but please be certain that your use of the tool does not detract from your learning!
Step 3. To the right are links to the nine sections of this workshop. It is recommended that you address them in order.
Step 4. Once you have completed all nine (9) sections, please share your 2025 Literate History folder with Jonathan Cornue (jcornue@moboces.org) and Maria Papa (mpapa@moboces.org). We will reach out to you after we have reviewed your material.
