Thanks to everyone who submitted their videos for display within Missouri's capitol as part of our virtual Fine Arts Education Day, 2021. With 63 different schools submitting their videos - some for the first time - the presence of Missouri Fine Arts Education could be felt both within the Capitol Rotunda and throughout the building. Also featured were videos which included the Youth Art Month virtual display and Senate Hall Art Exhibit selected honorees, as well as MAAE's Art Education Excellence Awards. Special thanks to Fine Arts Education Day coordinator Jeff Sandquist, Senate Hall art Exhibit coordinator Vicki Bean, and Photographer/historian Ronald Jennings. We also appreciate those who assisted in reaching out to legislators during the event including, MAEA's Kim Powell, and Missouri Citizens for the Arts volunteers Evie Craig, Ben Martin and others. This annual event brings student voices and student performances to Missouri's capitol informing legislators of the value of arts education and that even in a year like no other, the arts are alive and well in Missouri schools.
View the collected videos at https://maae.educate.today/. The videos are searchable by school, district, legislative district, subject, and more. Future plans include an option to submit videos for Fine Arts Education Day 2022. Be thinking about what you might like to share to tell the story of arts education in your district that we might share with legislators.

In a year of unimaginable stressors, the need for self-care has never been stronger. Missouri teachers are welcome to join these NC-based webinars. Consider attending!
We all know that we cannot serve students from an empty cup. Every educator has been repeatedly told to put on their own oxygen mask first but for most, virtual, hybrid, and in-person teaching during the COVID-19 Pandemic has been overwhelmingly stressful. Many adults do not know where or how to begin to address their own SEL needs but are charged with leading these efforts for children. We are here to help! ALL educators are welcome to join in this 8-session series to learn practical techniques to manage stress, rekindle daily joy through the arts, and explore how to apply lessons learned in this series to the classroom through Arts Integrated SEL lessons for students. We look forward to sharing this valuable content with you and know that your students will be better served when you engage in a little SELf Care!
