AmeriCorps is the federal agency for national service and volunteerism. AmeriCorps provides opportunities for Americans of all backgrounds to serve their country, address the nation’s most pressing challenges, and improve lives and communities.
Through service, the Alliance develops leaders who foster young people’s individual assets, honor their voices, and prepare them to reach their goals.
AmeriCorps Promise Fellows each work with a “Focus List” of 30* students that are identified based on data related to the Early Warning Indicators (attendance, engagement and work completion data). Youth participants are typically those that are struggling to engage in school and may lack connections to caring adults, academic support or opportunities to become engaged in their community.
