Marple Newtown High School is located in Delaware County, Pennsylvania serving both Newtown and Marple Township. It is comprised of about 1,100 students in grades 9 - 12. In 2024, Marple Newtown was named a "Best Community for Music Education" by the NAMM Foundation. It also received the award in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023. The Marple Newtown High School Tiger Marching Band has won three Cavalcade of Bands open-class championships (2014, 2015 and 2016).The department has been consistently in the national spotlight, performing a field show on ice at the Icecapades (1975), singing the national anthem on network TV, performing in the 6ABC Thanksgiving Day Parade, and Philadelphia 4th of July Parade. With more than 700 students involved in the middle and high school music program, Marple Newtown is proud to inspire the next generation of the arts.
