Bernier's 3-4 Newsletter

We had an exciting and engaging week in our classroom! We kicked things off by learning about battery recycling with Recycle Rhonda from CSWD. Students discovered the importance of safely recycling batteries and helping protect our environment. We will be participating as a 3 4 team, and more information on this is included below!
In the classroom, creativity is in full swing as we have begun writing our Fractured Fairy Tales. The students are absolutely loving this imaginative writing project and are eager to put their own unique twists on classic stories.
In addition, every student has been working hard to build their reading fluency through Reader’s Theater. They are practicing reading with expression and confidence, and we look forward to having them perform their scripts before April break.
We wrapped up this fun filled week with a special all school trip to BRMS, where we enjoyed a preview performance of Mary Poppins by the Vermont Youth Dancers. It was a wonderful way to celebrate a week full of learning, creativity, and community!

Classroom Treats
On occasion, we might give students trident gum, tic tacs, lifesavers mints, hot cocoa, popcorn, or hershey's milk chocolate for something fun. As part of the district health protocols, we need to notify you of this. Please reach out to me if your child will need to opt out of this.
Friday Notebooks
Please make a note on your family calendar to send your child’s Friday notebook to school each Friday (or earlier if possible!). It means so much to your child to read your response and write back to you. They truly look forward to that connection every week.
