What a fun and exciting week we had in our classroom! We started with a visit from the Sailing Center, where students learned about weather and how different types of weather are formed through fun and entertaining experiments. It was a wonderful hands-on experience, and weâre excited that she will be visiting again next month to help us build our own weather instruments. If youâd like to try some of the experiments at home, there are links and activities available here:

We also enjoyed a trip to the UVM Womenâs Basketball game, where students had a great time cheering, watching an amazing team in action, and enjoying the experience together.
Another highlight was a special visit from Mrs. Dolanâs daughter, who taught us all about her job at Ben & Jerryâs. Students loved learning what goes on behind the scenes at the famous ice cream company, and they especially enjoyed the sweet treat she shared with us.
Back in the classroom, students are hard at work learning about Google Slides and practicing their typing skills as they put the finishing touches on their weather phenomenon reports.
In specials, students are having a blast learning the ukulele in music and performing gymnastics tricks in PE, showing off their growing skills and confidence.
Overall, it was a week full of learning, fun, and exciting experiences. Weâre so proud of all the hard work and enthusiasm!
Have a Cool Job and Want to Share it?
Our class was recently inspired by Becky Bulaga, who came to talk about her job at Ben & Jerryâs as an Associate Brand Manager for US Innovation. Even more fun, we got to do ice cream taste-testing, which made learning about her job even more exciting and inspiring! đŚ
This got us thinkingâthere are so many cool jobs out there, and weâd love to learn more about them. If you have a job that you think would be fun or interesting to share with our class, we would be thrilled to have you come and talk about it. Itâs a great way for students to see all the different possibilities in the world!
If youâre interested in visiting our class and sharing about your work, please reach out to Mrs. Bernier.
We canât wait to hear from you!

Girls On The Run-Coaches Needed!
Weâre getting ready for another amazing season of Girls on the Run at UCSâbut we need your help! Weâre looking for volunteer coaches to help lead this fun, empowering program for 3rd and 4th grade girls. The season typically begins in March and runs two days a week after school, ending around 3:45 PM. The program wraps up with an inspiring Celebration 5K on Saturday, May 30, as part of the Essex 5K!
Donât worry if you canât commit to both daysâweâre very flexible and would love to have you join us even if you can only help one day a week!
If youâre interested in coaching, please reach out to Head Coach Abbie Bernier at abigail.bernier@mmuusd.org for more information and fill out the coach volunteer form here.
Weâre also trying to gauge interest for this yearâs team! If your 3rd or 4th grade girl would like to participate, please complete the interest form here: GOTRVT Participant Interest Form.
Please note: this is not the official registrationâjust a way for us to plan for the number of participants.
Letâs make this another great season of fun, friendship, and running! đââď¸đŤ
Friday Notebooks
Please make a note on your family calendar to send your childâs Friday notebook to school each Friday (or earlier if possible!). It means so much to your child to read your response and write back to you. They truly look forward to that connection every week.
