Many preschool students do not include consonant sounds at the ends of their words. This visual is a great reminder to add the final sound. For example, you can practice the word "bat" and have your child slide their finger along the green line while they say "ba" then tap the red dot at the end while they say the "t" sound.

Within the preschool program we have a variety of students who are working on articulation production within different syllables patterns. Here are some worksheet you could use with your child. Clap out the syllables slowly while producing each word and have your child copy whiling clapping. You may have to use hand over hand to clap words with your child. You may also have child jump to each syllable to get more movement and energy in activity. Be as clever and creative as you possibly can! You know what works best at home with your children.

Books are a great way to improve your child's articulation skills! Watch the read aloud below of "The Little Mouse, the Red, Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear" and practice all the word you see that include your child's goal sound. On each page, encourage your child to name what they see.

The sounds in this video may be different than the sounds you may be working on with your child. Look at IEP for which sounds your child is working on and if the goal does not specfically state sounds, contact your speech therapist to see what goals they are working on. Attached is a website MOMMY SPEECH THERAPY that will have many words to work on for each sound. Spend 15-30 mintues modeling each word focusing on the specific sound and having your child repeating it after you a few times. If they are more advance work on puting it in sentences.

Step 1: Say the name of the letter 5 times. Each time you say it, roll a ball of play dough and place it in one of the boxesbelow the bubble letter. Roll the play dough into a snake and place it over the letter. You can also trace the letter with awhiteboard marker.

You can use these videos at any time to show your child how to produce their sounds. In addition, I've added a read aloud of one of my favorite books, "Dragons Love Tacos." While listening to this story, point out words with your child's speech sound in them and encourage your child to practice those words!
