US History is a two-semester class. The course will begin with a review on the exploration, settlement, and early government in North America and the United States. Students will learn all 27 Amendments which includes the Bill of Rights. The class will reflect on factors leading up to and through the Civil War and post-Reconstruction. After Reconstruction, the class will engage in lessons through Immigration & Industrialization, the Progressive Era, into WWI, the Roaring 20’s, the Great Depression, WWII, Cold War Era, Civil Rights, Vietnam Era, Reagan Economics, and up to current day. In general, the course will be comprised of lectures, activities, presentations, chapter and unit assessments, project-based assignments, proper use of primary source documents, and research based writing assignments.
