The course of Economics with be one semester long. The class will be approximately ninety (90) academic school days. There will be a cumulative semester final exam. The course incorporates twenty (20) key concepts: Scarcity, Opportunity Cost, Economic Systems, Incentives, Trade, Specialization, Market Prices, Supply & Demand, Competition, Economic Institutions, Money, Interest Rates, Income, Entrepreneurs, Standard of Living, Government, Public Policy, Gross Domestic Product, Unemployment & Inflation, and finally Monetary and Fiscal Policy. In general, the course will be comprised of lectures, activities, presentations, chapter and unit assessments, project based assignments, cross curriculum lessons, and research based writing assignments.
