"The Promise Scholarship is sponsored by the state of West Virginia for West Virginia resident students. It currently pays up to $4,750 per year for up to four undergraduate years or completion of a bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first."

PROMISE Scholarship Requirements:
22 composite ACT score: with a 20 in English, Math, science, and reading sub sections.
OR 1100 SAT total score: with 530 in Reading and Writing and 520 in Math.
GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Submit FASFA.
Complete PROMISE scholarship application.
Must be a WV Resident
The PROMISE scholarship helps provide financial aid to residents of the state. This may influence whether a student is able to pursue a higher education at one of West Virginia's universities.
