Two day Global Conference on Advanced Smart and Sustainable Technologies in Engineering (GCASSTE-2020) was inaugurated by Dr. Prahlad Vadakkepat, Professor, Electrical & Computer Science Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS) on January 30th & 31st , 2020. The conference is sponsored by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi under the scheme of Grant for Organizing Conference. The conference was jointly organized by Civil Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering department. The conference covered advanced technologies that are more sustainable, solving critical engineering problems, improving the overall quality of life and hence benefitting the society at large.

A three day student employability program on Innovations and Incubations: Ideation to Realization (IIIR-2019) was inaugurated on 06th September 2019. The workshop is sponsored by TEQIP 1.3, Govt. of India and is organized by Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering from September 06th to September 8th 2019. The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Socrates K. Deputy Director, MSME, Mangalore Division. Dr. Divakara Shetty. S, Dean (Academics) presided over the function.
The main objective is to provide the awareness and build entrepreneurial expertise through Innovations and Incubation: From Ideation to Realization to pursue dreams and to gain economic, technical and entrepreneurial expertise in the chosen field. It aims to develop lateral thinking and innovation skills for societal and business prospective. This program is a complete journey of Innovative ideas, its Nurturing, Prototyping, Product, IPR, Business Plan, and Financial Assistance by State and Central Government and private agencies

Karnataka Science and Technology Academy Department of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka (KSTA) sponsored two days Special Lecture Series was held on 28th and 29th of September 2018. Dr. N. V. Subba Reddy, Dept. of CSE, MIT, Manipal inaugurated the Lecture Series and also handled a session on “Data science and application of AI-based learning models”. Prof. Roshan David Jathanna, Associate Professor, CSE, MIT, Manipal continued the session with hands on training. Dr. M. R. Arulalan, Dept of Electronics & Communication, NITK , Surathkal presented a session on “Linear Algebra background for Data Analytics”. On the second day, Dr. Amit Sengupta, Adjunct Professor, IIT Delhi explained how to collect the community based data in rural areas and he also handled a session on “Specific models and methods to develop risk criteria’s”. Dr. U B Pavanaja, Vishwa Kannada, Bengaluru spoke on “Computers and Indian Languages, how to write Kannada articles in Wikipedia".
