This Conference is designed to help education and rehabilitation professionals working with individuals with visual impairments or blindness increase their knowledge and skills in providing accessibility to information, in using assistive technology, in ethics and in the understanding of the impacts of vision loss as barriers to independence and participation in society.
Create a platform for networking and sharing experiences among attendees, foster a supportive community dedicated to advancing accessibility and inclusion for those with visual impairments.
Become familiar with those technologies that focus on the needs of the visually impaired community, as well as mitigate some of the technology challenges faced by the visually impaired community.
Empower people with visual impairments to effectively navigate and utilize assistive technologies to enable greater independence and participation in society.
Parents, Students with Visual Impairments, Counselors, Special Educators (Transition Coordinators, Paraprofessionals, Teachers), Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Teachers of the Visually Impaired, Orientation and Mobility Specialists, Certified Low Vision Therapists, School Administrators, Veterans, Employers, Certified Assistive Technology Instructional Specialists, Social Workers, Visual Impairment Services Team Coordinators, and Advocates
Continuing Education Credits 17 hours for Mississippi Educators is being requested as well as credit for other professions: ACVREP, Mississippi OT – 18 hours, CRCC.
Special note: Each session less than 1 hour is not approved for credit with CRCC.
For credit of any kind, registrants are expected to attend every session.
We are returning to the beautiful USM Gulf Coast Research Lab, Marine Education Center in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
