SBAC: Smarter Balanced State Testing - Dates 3/23/26 - 4/3/26
As you know, the required CAASPP State Testing is approaching. I will be proctoring the assessment via the secure browser beginning Monday, March 23rd.
Here is the sign-up sheet. Please write your student’s first initial and their last name, as well as which test they will complete in each time slot.
Note: ALL Mission2Learn and CPA classes will review content ONLY for the week of 3/23/26. No new content will be taught that week to give students flexible testing time options. Students WILL NOT be penalized for missing LIVE classes, but will be required to complete review assignments if applicable.
Getting Ready for the CAASPP Checklist
Sign up for remote sessions HERE. Students in grades 3, 4, 6, and 7 will sign up for a total of (4) sessions, and students in grades 5 and 8 will sign up for a total of (5) sessions, including the science CAST test.
Update your student's Chromebook for testing: Turn the Chromebook on. Once powered on, log in to Chromebooks (using a Google account), then navigate to Settings>About Chrome OS> Check for Updates. Install any pending updates.
Log out of Chrome and all other applications to locate the secure browser for CAASPP testing. Can you find the Secure Browser on your Computer?
Confirm that you have read the test security email by responding "CONFIRM" to the test security email. Test Security Slides.
Write your student's SSID on a Post-It or notecard for them to use to access each session. SSID numbers can be found on the CAASPP Student Success Plan page in our shared student folders.
Important Considerations for Testing
Students taking the CAASPP cannot access the secure browser from their Chromebook apps tab if they are logged into Google Chrome or ANY other applications. Although you are prompted to sign in to Gmail when logging in to the Chromebook, please do not sign in.
Students take the test virtually via the CAASPP secure browser, NOT Zoom. They will not be able to access the secure browser via Zoom or any other applications.
When logging into the CAASPP secure browser, students will need to choose their grade level, enter their full name (no nicknames or shortened versions), enter their SSID numbers, which can be found on the CAASPP Student Success Plan page in our shared student folders, and provide a SESSION ID# CA-.
Within the CAASPP secure browser, teachers and students can communicate via chat or video call for any questions. You can also reach me by text or phone call.
Teachers and parents cannot assist students with their responses.
