School Hosted Field Trips
Field trips are available for viewing two months in advance and open for booking one month before the trip date. Booking times may vary depending on the timing of the trip within the month. This approach helps ensure tickets are booked correctly and gives families more opportunities to secure spots for field trips.
Between booking periods, please log out completely of the Field Trip site. To book tickets properly, you will need to log in again at or after the designated booking time.
We’re excited to introduce a new “Favorite” feature on the Field Trip site! Now, when you browse upcoming field trips, you can mark favorites for easy access later. Once a trip is marked as a favorite, it will appear in the "Show Favorites" list at the top of the Field Trips page, making it easier to find and book later!
Review the FAQ on the FTE Hub.
No Show/Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a field trip you’ve booked, please contact the Field Trips department at least three days before the trip date. In cases of illness or last-minute emergencies, we ask that you notify us as soon as possible. If we receive three no-call/no-show incidents, you will be unable to attend field trips for the rest of the semester.
You can reach the MVA Field Trips team by email at fieldtrips@missionvistaacademy.org or by phone at (951) 393-1352, ext. 314. Thank you for your understanding!
Family-Planned Field Trips
Our school is happy to support family-led field trips by purchasing individual student admission tickets to educational locations such as zoos, aquariums, science centers, botanical gardens, and other similar venues that enhance students' learning.
From July to September, families may request basic annual passes or memberships to approved educational locations. After October, only daily admission tickets are available for approval for enrolled students.
Guidelines for Ticket Requests:
Educational Focus: Family-led field trips must be educational and align with students’ learning plans.
Student Tickets Only: The school can purchase tickets for enrolled students, but not for parents or chaperones.
School Hours: Field trips must take place during the regular school day and school week—not in the evenings or on weekends. The school is unable to fund trips during the summer when school is not in session.
Venue Requirements: Many locations (e.g., aquariums, science centers) require a date and time for ticket purchases. Please provide this information whenever possible when requesting tickets.
Cultural & Performing Arts Events: Activities such as dance, music, and live theater may be approved if they align with experiences that traditional schools would provide. These requests require special approval from school leadership.
Ticket Purchases: Tickets must be purchased directly from the venue, not through third-party vendors that increase ticket prices.
