MISSION
GOALS
The mission of Montgomery ISD’s Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive developmental counseling program for all students in a safe and supportive environment. Professional School Counselors provide equitable access to maximize academic achievement, foster personal and social/emotional growth, and facilitate career development in partnership with parents/guardians, educators, and all members of the school community. We strive to inspire all students to develop their individual potential to become lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and problem solvers who are responsible and productive citizens in our diverse and changing world.
Ensure the Guidance Program fully supports the goals and mission of the school.
Plan a guidance curriculum that will help students develop the skills necessary to be successful academically and good citizens.
Utilize data collected from teachers, parents/guardians, and staff to conduct small group interventions that are necessary to promote student growth in social, emotional, and academic domains.
Facilitate meetings with parents/guardians and staff by troubleshooting and providing feedback concerning the needs of the whole child.
Continually promote a positive campus climate by actively encouraging teacher and staff involvement and opportunities to share collaboratively with equal parity.
As the school counselor at Madeley Ranch Elementary, I accept the responsibility of helping all students through a systematically delivered developmental guidance and counseling program. At the same time, I will respect each student, strive to understand each student's background and the factors which are influencing his/her present circumstances, and maintain optimism about each student's future.
