Private Lessons

Private lessons are for all band students!  Much of the individual success in the FSMS Band program is attributed to our private lesson program. Depending upon teacher availability, private lessons are offered before school, after school, and during band class. While private lessons may be treated as tutoring for students who need additional assistance, they are also excellent in providing opportunities for excelling students to advance more quickly and be further challenged.  There is only so much individual feedback and attention we are able to give each student on a daily basis, and private lesson instructors are able to meet with your student and design a program that meets their individual needs.

Our private lesson teachers are selected by the directors and have completed MISD required background checks. Private lesson staff are degreed educators and professional instrumentalists who work closely with the directors to help each student progress. Private lessons are $20 per lesson and are payable to the individual private teacher. Please contact Mr. Koch if financial aid/scholarships are necessary, as we would like all students interested in taking private lessons to be allowed the opportunity to do so!
