silhouettes

The customer is able to upload their loved one’s side-profile photo and we will create a custom silhouette art print for them.

Silhouettes are only 1 head per proof. We cannot do multiple heads on the same proof.

Things to consider:

• think like the customer: would YOU hang this on your wall?
• think like an artist: make the final product “WORK”, not “EXACTLY LIKE THE PHOTO”.
• think of the money: customers spend a lot of money on our silhouettes, get it right and get a repeat customer.

In Photoshop:

• using whatever method works best for you, make a black and white jpg of your subject, then place it in illustrator

In Illustrator:

• use image trace with the Minted Silhouette preset
• use whatever tools that work best for you to define details
• using the pre-made assets off the artboard in the design file, apply hair textures as necessary

Final touches:

• clean up your file
• make sure the color is correct (digilux palette only)
• take a moment to look at silhouette with fresh eyes
