Minibooks and Wedding Minibooks
Minibooks are multi-page cards with photos and text on several pages. The paper they are printed on is slightly thinner than signature paper, and specific to minibooks. They open horizontally, with each page wider than the last, allowing for tabs to cascade out to the right. There are two types of minibooks: All Photo and Text & Photo. All Photo Books have a photo and caption on every page. Text & Photo cards have text on the left side of a spread and a photo on the right.
Minibooks are 5" x 7" and ship with A7 envelopes.
the 7.2” x 5.2” file is 8 pages built as separate pages, not spreads
the first page is the cover, and the eighth page is the backer
the middle six pages create three interior page spreads, numbered 1-2, 3-4, 5-6
there are document guides in the file as well as a guides layer that shows where the trim and bleed are for each page
Minibooks are proofed almost the same way as a non-WTP card. The only difference is a minibook template is a multi-page InDesign file. You can download the correct template from product files, and populate it using the customer's photos and text customizations.
only available in 2 paper types: Signature Cover and Pearlescent
only available in standard digital printing (no foil-press or letterpress)
only available in landscape orientation
you should always print proofs out before submitting them, but it's especially helpful to print out the minibook in full - you'll be surprised how many subtle mistakes you'll find
consistency is key across all pages of the minibook
if the customer also ordered enclosure cards, make sure they match the minibook
the stock photos in minibooks have script labels that must be deleted before uploading the files to MBO
if these labels aren't deleted, the photos will not appear in the MBO preview
when working in InDesign, be sure to have your "Script Label" panel open
delete the "id:photostock" labels from all photos
Non-wedding minibooks get the standard white band logo.
For wedding minibooks: if the customer opts in for a logo, use the Wedding Designer logo.
