FALL 2025 SPORTS FAQ
What is “Intramurals”?
This is 26 hours that is offered to teach students about the sport and the skills associated with the sport. At the end of the 26 hours the coaches will make cuts for the final team. This team will continue on with the sports season and compete against other middle school teams. In order to be eligible for the team students must have a 2.0 GPA, be in good behavioral standing, and attend 13 hours of the 26 hours offered.
How will students know if they made enough hours to make the team?
Students will sign in each day. If a student does not sign in or forgets to sign in, their hours will not be counted for that practice. Students can ask their Coach how many hours they have and need to be eligible to make the team.
Where do I pick my student up at?
Volleyball - MCS Gym
Cross Country - Little Shady (pink car-rider line)
Soccer - MAC
Cheer - MCS Gym
Will they be making cuts to Volleyball, Cross Country, Cheer and Soccer this year?
Volleyball will keep 18-20 girls
Cross Country will keep 16-55 or however many come out
Cheer will keep 12-16 or how many come out.
Soccer will keep 22, 8 girls and 14 boys
Where will intramural practices be?
Practices are after school in the gym
Will/should students bring a change of clothes?
Yes, it is in our opinion that students should bring a change of clothes and deodorant as they will be sweating during practice. Must wear proper footwear to practice.

Practice changes depending on the day. Please see the sports posted schedule.

When is the latest the athletic packet can get turned in?
Students are not allowed to participate in MCS Sports until the packet is turned in. This means that if a student shows up to a practice and they do not have a completed athletic packet on file they will not be allowed to participate and be asked to have their
parents come and pick them up as soon as possible.
What extras need to be bought?
For Basketball it is recommended that students have comfortable non slippery gym shoes but not required. If a student makes the team they will have a list of items they will be given a more specific list of items they may need. (No flat based shoes like converse or vans)
What are the practice and game schedules?
Each sports schedule is different. Please see the posted schedule for that sport. Game schedules will be given to those who make the final team.

Is it tryouts or automatically make the team?
There are 26 hours offered of Intramurals. At the end of the 26 hours the coaches will create the final team using a rubric created by the coach of that sport. This rubric is based on the skills of the game students learned throughout the 26 hours of intramurals. Students must make 13 out of the 26 hours offered to be eligible to make the final team.
When and where are Practices, is it everyday?
Practices are in the afternoon in the gym. Please visit our website for more information on practice schedules and game schedules.
Fees?
To try out for the team and participate in Intramurals is free for all Minneola Charter students. If a student is to make the team there are team dues of $150 per student. We can work with parents to come up with payment plans if needed.
What style of shoe is recommended?
Basketball shoes are recommended but not required.
Meet/Game schedule?
This will be given to the students who make the final team on the last day of intramurals.
Pay athletic fees online?
Once the team selection has been made all athletic fees can be paid by this rev trak. Basketball team dues
What is needed to join?
A completed athletic packet from the current school year is required to participate in all Minneola Charter School athletics.
What are the requirements?
In order to be eligible to make the team a student must be in good academic standing(a 2.0 GPA or higher), must be in good behavioral standing, must have a completed athletic packet turned in prior to participating, and must have attended 13/26 hours of Intramurals.
Will parents, families and guests be required to wear masks during meets?
In the gym we highly recommend, but not mandatory.
When will practices be if they make the team (morning or afternoons)?
Coaches will decide that personally and will pass the schedule off to those who make the team.
Will lockers be available for the kids to use for their practice gear, and usable overnight so they do not have to carry shoes and clothing in a backpack?
Lockers will only be made available to those who make the final team.
