Hello,

I'm Mrs.  Anderson!  I am the middle school counselor.    I have had the pleasure of working at Milwaukee School of Languages for the past 9 years.  Prior to working at MSL, I worked as a school counselor at other MPS schools.  Before becoming a school counselor, I was a middle school English teacher for four years.

I received my undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in government and history.   I earned a master's degree from Marquette University in Educational Leadership and Policy.   While I was teaching and attending graduate school, I discovered that I had a passion and aptitude for helping students with their academic, social, and behavioral concerns.    As I wanted to have more educational tools and resources to help students in the area of counseling,  I worked on earning a  certification in Educational Psychology at UWM.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.  My hobbies include running, reading, and watching Netflix!

Class of 2024 & 2026

Hello,

I am Amy O'Neil. I am a high school counselor serving the classes of 2022 and 2024. This is my third year at MSL and my 7th year as an MPS school counselor.  I have always been passionate about helping young people find their way to a successful future and have worked in various youth service agencies including a teen crisis shelter and residential treatment group home.

I am a proud MPS graduate and feel blessed to be able to give back to the school district and community that shaped me into the school counselor I am today. Although while in high school I had no idea what I wanted to do when I grew up, I feel I was inadvertently groomed to be a school counselor by the organizations and programs I was a member of throughout my K-12 education. When beginning my college career at UW-Milwaukee right after high school, I met with a career advisor and quickly set my goal to become a school counselor. Despite obstacles along the way, I stayed the course earning an associates degree in Education from Georgia Military College, followed by my bachelors degree in Community Education from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, and finally my masters degree in School Counseling from Concordia University - Wisconsin.

In my free time, I love to eat.. so I like to cook good food. I enjoy working out  and love Zumba and dance fitness (although I don't dance in real life). And most of all, I love hanging out with my family and friends.

Hello,

My name is Dulce Rosas-Bucio and I am the high school counselor, serving the classes of 2021 and 2023.  This is my 8th year as an MPS school counselor, the last 4 having been at MSoL.  Over a span of 20 years,  I have worked in various educational settings. I love working with students, families and our community.

I attended UW-Milwaukee and my path was not a "traditional" path to College. I had just graduated high school and was a mom to a 1 year old. Working as a school secretary led me to working with students in other educational roles.  I worked as a program assistant in the graduate support program at an all girls private school. My next position was at a Head Start organization as a Family Support Specialist. My positions in these educational roles attributed to my motivation in becoming a school counselor. However, my academic counselor at UW -Milwaukee would prove to inspire me the most. He believed in me, encouraged me when things got difficult and always knew when to call to check in on me. With his utmost support, I enrolled and successfully completed grad school.  I am proud alumni of UW-Milwaukee. I have a bachelors in Community Education and a masters degree in Educational psychology, with a focus on School Counseling.

When I am not working, I like to spend time with my family and friends. I love to host parties for every occasion. When I am not hosting a party, I love to craft and make earrings out of recycled materials.
