Milwaukee Public Library offers Drop-In Tutoring for adult learners. Tutors are available to help with literacy skills, reading, writing, math, life skills, high school and college homework, and studying for tests, including the GED. Tutoring is free and no appointment is needed, as it is offered on a on a first come basis.

Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computing, history, art history, economics, and more, including K-14 and test preparation (SAT, Praxis, LSAT) content. We focus on skill mastery to help learners establish strong foundations, so there's no limit to what they can learn next!

The virtual tutoring program (VTP) is coordinated by the Center for Community-Based Learning, Leadership, & Research (CCBLLR) staffed by a variety of students at UWM, including teacher education students, paid America Reads tutors, volunteers, and service learners. The program seeks to provide academic and social support elementary and secondary students impacted by distance education, continued professional experience for college students, and an opportunity for the UWM community to support the education of young people. This is a free service and is at no cost to tutees and their families.
