*Only students whose families completed the VILS Chromebook Agreement will receive a VILS device.
*Devices will be distributed to students during 1st period.
Greetings! I'm your VILS coach, Mrs. Chapman. I'll be supporting teachers in their use of technology in their instruction as well as working with students in using technology to share their knowledge in each subject area. 70% of my time will be spent in classrooms providing educational technology support to teachers with the goal of transforming instructional practices to empower and equip our students with 21st century skills.

What Is Digital Citizenship?
Digital citizenship is the responsible use of technology to learn, create, and participate.
Students have been participating in digital citizenship lessons to address timely topics and support students in taking ownership of their digital lives. Douglas is creating a positive culture around media and technology by incorporating digital citizenship education as part of daily learning.
Students receive digital citizenship lessons before devices are distributed so they understand the practices of cultivating a positive, authentic digital footprint when they receive their devices.
In the event a student's or staff member's VILS device needs to be serviced or reported lost/stolen, students must submit the appropriate Google Form(s). Once the form is received, the device will be picked up. Chromebooks should not be sent/given to Ms. Johnson or Mrs. Chapman. Additional steps are given in each form.
