Sonic The Hedgehog

Movie Review

I think we can all agree on one thing...Sonic's first look looked like he was made from Micheal Bay's laboratory. But, he was rebuilt, making him cuter, more lovable, more awesome, and his jokes are actually funny. Sonic tries to navigate the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound best friend -- a human named Tom Wachowski, but soon they realize that they must join forces to stop Dr. Robotnik from stealing Sonic's power.

This is another smash hit video game movie. I still think Detective Pikachu is the best video game movie of all time but that doesn't mean Sonic The Hedgehog isn't good. Jim Carrey is easily the best part about this film. I love his wacky, silly attitude and his chemistry with Sonic is nicely executed with homage to the games. Kids will love Sonic, and they will appreciate his goofy attitude and they will enjoy seeing him speed around destroying Robotnik's egg robots. Adults will also appreciate him and his presence will shoot them back into the 90s. The action is great even if there wasn't as much as I was expecting, and I guess that's the only complaint I have with this film: they save all of it for the end. I guess I just wanted more of Sonic obliterating robots. I can really relate to Sonic because he's lonely and he hasn't made a real friend and a lot of middle schoolers can relate to this (well...some at least).

Sonic The Hedgehog is a fun ride for all ages; Jim Carrey will excite audiences with his Jim Carrey-ness and Sonic will make young ones laugh. Even if there's not a whole lot of action in there that I was expecting, I still had a fun time with this movie.

Terraria Review

Terraria is a Video Game developed by Re-Logic and published by 505-Games. Released on Windows at first, it later was released onto other PCs, Console and even on Mobile. Terraria is a Sandbox Adventure game, Similar to Minecraft, but instead in a 2D world. Terraria received praise for its gameplay, earning a 10/10 on Steam and becoming one of the few games on Steam to receive the "Overwhelmingly Positive" review rating.

The game is a sandbox game, meaning that there is no strict objective or goal for the player to stride towards. There are a few things in the game that are essential to progress through the game, but this isn't needed. At beginning of the game, your main objective is to simply explore and get stronger. You start off with 100 health and 20 mana, but you can increase these stats with Life Crystals, which are found when exploring caves and Mana Stars, which you can craft using Fallen Stars, items that appear during nighttime. You spawn in a forest with some basic tools and your good friend, The Guide. The Guide is one of the many NPCs (non-player character) that will appear if certain requirements, like an Arms Dealer will move in if you find a gun, or The Dryad, who will move in if you defeat a boss.

After cutting down some trees and building a house, your goal is to start exploring and getting better gear. If you explore enough, you can find an item known as the Suspicious Looking Eye, and Item that summons the first boss, the Eye of Cthulhu. If you conquer this foul beast, you will be rewarded with some good loot. After defeating a few other bosses such as the Eater of Worlds, Brain of Cthulhu and Skeletron,
