The Model United Nations Club of Millwood School, for upper school students, meets after school on Tuesdays. Students in Model U.N. consider the issues faced and the procedures of debate used by ambassadors. The culminating activity will be a field trip in March to the National United Nations Conference in New York City. See Mrs. Christi Miller, 5th grade teacher, for more info!
BLAST for 8th & 9th Grade Students - Building Leaders for Advancing Science and Technology (BLAST) is a FREE program designed to provide Virginia’s current 8th and 9th grade students with hands-on STEM experiences. Over the course of three days, students stay in a college dormitory among five Virginia universities and explore dynamic STEM activities. BLAST is geared toward students who are interested in STEM but have not yet had an opportunity for exploration. Application window is December 1 - February 1!
Virginia Tech Pre-College Programs for Engineering and Computer Science - Virginia Tech offers multiple program opportunities for middle and high school students to explore engineering and computer science. Experiences and deadlines vary.
VCU Healthcare Programs for High School Students - VCU offers multiple opportunities during the academic year and the summer for high school students to explore healthcare fields including dentistry, pharmacy and other health sciences.
VCUarts Summer Pre-College Program - Current sophomores, juniors and seniors are invited to stay on VCU's campus (or commute) July 12-31, 2026 to take a non-credit arts course with course options including animation, digital filmmaking, musical theatre & acting and so much more. Students should apply by February 1.
William & Mary Pre-College Online Program - Students ages 13+ can choose from a variety of courses in business, law and STEM including psychology and medicine. Students can enroll anytime and are able to work at their own pace.
Georgetown University Pre-College Online Program - Flexible online enrichment courses (non-credit) and college credit courses in a variety of areas including but not limited to biology, medicine and marketing.
Harvard Medical School Pre-College HMX Program - Self-paced online courses taught by Harvard Medical School faculty for motivated students interested in exploring medicine, science, or health care as they prepare for college.
Harvard Summer College Programs for High School Students - Residential and online options for motivated students with over 300 course options. Application opens December 1 for summer 2026!
Wake Forest University Online Immersion Programs for High School Students - This online program with flexible courses gives motivated high school students the chance to explore college-level topics in business, law, medicine or STEM.
