Hour of…

December 4-10, 2023

An hour of code is a one-hour introduction to coding designed to demystify computer science and show that anybody can learn the basics. Coding tutorials are designed to introduce students to programming using a fun and intuitive approach. Students use critical thinking and problem solving skills to complete these coding activities. As they create their own games and stories with code, they also learn programming concepts such as sequencing, repetition, and conditional logic.

What do these activities teach?

The puzzles and creative activities are designed to teach students computational thinking and the basics of computer programming. Students solve each puzzle by programming visual code blocks to achieve a goal.
