For this project, I collaborated with one of my classmates to create a news story for the FOX 61 Student News Program about a non-profit organization who works with local high school swim teams, local colleges in the Metro Tri-State Area to raise money for Breast Cancer research. Lion Heart is dedicated to supporting breast cancer research at Yale New Haven's Smilow Cancer Hospital and the Yale Cancer Center. Martha Phelan, sister of founder Kathleen van Rijn, a two‑time breast cancer survivor, explains why this organization is so important.
The news story was selected to be aired on an episode of FOX 61 News Broadcasts and was one of just three nominees for the Community Events Award.
This video was produced for the CIAC Battle of the Fans Video Contest. The contest was sponsored by the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC) and asked entrants to create a video that showed school spirit and sportsmanship.
The video highlights key moments from the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years., including the final out of the Law softball team's State semifinal game, which sent them to the Championship game for the first time since 1980 and an strong performance from Law football team in shutting down its cross-town rival on Thanksgiving.
This project was the senior video for Jonathan Law High School, Class of 2025. Over the course of the year our Broadcast Journalism clas collected footage that captures senior year highlights- from pep rallys, Friday Night Football games, vidoes from Freshman year, to man on the street videos asking, "Where will you be in 10 years from now?". I personally produced, edited and organizaed the content to tell a cohesive story of our expiernces, growth, and memories leading up to graduation. It's meant to preserve what made our four years at Jonathan Law special and serve as a tribute to our class' journey.
I served as the Color Commentator for the annual Thanksgiving Day Football game between two Milford High Schools - Jonathan Law and Joseph A. Foran.
The game was live-streamed on the Milford Government Access Television (MGAT) Education Channel, where we had over 2,000 live viewers.
I served as the Color Commentator for a boys basketball game between Jonathan Law and Joseph A. Foran that was also a benefit game for Coaches vs. Cancer.
The game was live-streamed on the Milford Government Access Television (MGAT) Education Channel, where we had over 700 live viewers.
As part of our Broadcast Journalism class, I host our school's live daily morning news show - The Morning Briefing - at least once per week. The show give the school community updates about upcoming events, clubs, activities, and sports.
When I'm not hosting, I'm busy working behind the scenes as a director and producer, managing the switchboard, cameras, and teleprompters. These roles ensure that everything runs smoothly and the broadcast is seamless.
