Swimmers are expected to...
Sit with team during meets.
Remain on deck & suited up through the last event of the meet.
Swim/dive all scheduled events.
Cheer & support the team.
No cell phone use/social media filming and posting on deck/in the locker rooms during the practice and meet.
Respect school property, home & away.
Respect coaches, athletes, fans, staff, & officials.
Demonstrate good sportsmanship on & off the deck.
Notify coaches of absences as soon as possible before a meet.
7-12 grade athletes will help at all meets they are not participating in to support the team
Dual Meets (Varsity and Junior Varsity): All Varsity and Junior Varsity athletes, grades 7 - 12, will participate in these meets based on best times and strategies. On the Varsity line-up, the goal of all coaches is to create the most competitive line-up to be successful and work towards team goals. Junior Varsity line-ups aim to give athletes opportunities to make positive gains in their personal records, and to try new events. Junior Varsity line-up choices will be based on team goals and grade level based. The goal is to get as many athletes into the maximum amount of events as possible.
(Meet Times: Warm-Up 5:00 p.m. & Start 6:00 p.m. (unless noted). Van/Bus times will be communicated to the team.)JV Conference Championship Meet: All athletes that have regularly competed at the junior varsity and junior high level during the regular season will compete in the JV Conference Championship Meet. This is an opportunity for non-varsity athletes to compete at the championship level.
(Meet Times & Information will be handed out to athletes)Granite Ridge Conference Meet: All athletes that have regularly competed at the varsity level during the regular season will compete in the Granite Ridge Conference Meet. This is a limited entry, championship meet. Each individual event will be given 4 entries, and each relay will be given 2 entries. These will be based on best times and meet winning strategies.
Milaca belongs to the Granite Ridge Conference, which consists of Albany, Foley, Little Falls and Ogilvie/Mora.
Sections Championship Meet: 5A Section Meet: Athletes that have qualified for this meet & have a spot on the section roster will compete at the section meet. This is a limited entry, championship meet. Each individual event will be given 4 entries, and each relay will be given 1 entries. Entries will be based on best times and meet winning strategies. Milaca is a member of Section 5A for swimming & Diving, which has 11 teams (Becker, Big Lake, Foley, Fridley, Milaca, Monticello, Princeton, Sauk Rapids- Rice, Totino Grace, Zimmerman, and Coop 333 Ogilvie/Mora).
