The undergraduate program aims to prepare students to practice within their own communities and synthesize applied and collaborative learning. Students will engage in the maternity care system professionally and ethically at all times.

The undergraduate program aims to prepare students to practice at the full scope of the Certified Professional Midwife credential through the demonstration of broad, integrative, and specialized knowledge.

Professional and Academic Goals
New goals and ongoing goals (Updated April 2024)
Graduate with at least a 3.7 GPA.
Nail my integrated phase three assessments and pass the NARM exam
Secure a position at a local birth center after licensure to gain more valuable experience as a new midwife
Completed goals (updated April 2024)
Secure a short-term clinical placement to help me achieve my numbers for graduation by January 2024! Goal completed March of 2024 with a placement secured with Magpi Midwifery for the duration of my student journey.
Act as primary midwife in at least 10 prenatal visits by the end of September 2023. Goal completed with over 150 primary prenatals at this point!
Prioritize turning in academic work on time...at this point, we will retire this goal! the assignments get later and later, LOL!
Obtain my CPR certification by the end of 2021, as well as schedule my NRP recertification for 2022. Completed CPR March 2022, Renewed NRP April 2022.
Reach out and schedule meeting with local Midwives who are seeking students with the goal of securing a preceptorship position by May of 2022. Preceptor secured May 2022.
Continue to expand my education and knowledge by seeking out applicable training programs, while also working to spread my own knowledge through teaching, such as becoming a Spinning Babies certified instructor. Attended Breech Without Borders workshop in March of 2022! Goal continuing for Spinning Babies...
Source and register for an IV Skills/Suturing workshop for added skills practice. Completed October 2022
Attend 20 births with my preceptor by January of 2023 Completed January 2023
Create and teach a birth preparation course for my local community. Goal ongoing...
Complete 5 prenatal exams with no revisions/corrections from my preceptor, including fundal height measurement, palpation of fetal position/lie, and assessing fetal heart tones. Completed Winter Term of 2023

Spend the whole month of September with my family. No school, off-call, just enjoying life again!

Be more consistent with journaling after births...goal ongoing!
Attend at least 20 yoga classes by the end of fall term 2023. Goal ongoing, but I have been consistently able to workout in some capacity at least 3-4 times every week.
Continue to manage my work, personal, and school life to the best of my abilities. Goal continuing including making time for fitness for myself, taking time to decompress, and spending conscious time with my family...
Organize and book a family trip for the time I will be off call in September of 2021. Trip completed!
Continue to inwardly reflect during seemingly hard, emotional times. This year (2021) has been one of extreme growth within my personal self, and I hope to continue to evolve and grow through this difficult season. 2021 was a powerful year for my family, goal continuing with added therapy sessions to continue personal growth.
Squat my bodyweight (173 lbs!). Completed December 2022.
Have at least one date with my husband a month, and one day with each child a month. Goal ongoing but has so far been very successful!
Improve my credit score by 100 points by April of 2023. LOL, maybe after I graduate!
