Per Texas Education Code TEC, 25.092, students must attend 90% of a course in order to be awarded credit for the course and/or to be promoted to the next grade level. This requirement remains in force during the 2022-23 school year.

Daily student attendance will be taken based on one of the following criteria;

Interaction with the teacher (through Google Meet, phone call, or discussion),
Access to assignments in the learning management system (Schoology or SeeSaw),
or Progress on a virtual assignment (turning in an assignment or project).

Students must login to the learning management system daily (Schoology or SeeSaw).
MVS students are marked absent if they have not logged in to the LMS (Schoology or SeeSaw) and completed the attendance requirement for their class.
Elementary students have scheduled synchronous whole group and small group times with their teacher daily.
Secondary students must login to each class, every day. However, secondary students are not required to strictly follow their schedule, which means they are not required to login at the time of the class. Asynchronous assignments can be completed any time during the day.
Students may submit asynchronous assignments up until 11:59 pm each day and be counted present.
Teachers have until 5:00 pm the following day to submit attendance for MVS students. This allows students to turn in assignments beyond the end of the regular school day and provides teachers time the following day to confirm participation or assignment submission.
Parents and students can verify their attendance through Home Access Center. If you believe an error has occurred, please contact your child's teacher.
