What will I Learn?
You will develop their playwork skills in working with children and young people.
You will develop your personal qualities as well as your knowledge and skills in play and playwork; communication and development; wellbeing; and health and safety surrounding the topic.

What could be helpful?
It is designed for those who are considering a career working with young people e.g teacher, sports coach etc.
You should be confident in delivering sessions within your chosen sport or looking to gain experience working with children.
You will be required to write essays as assessments, therefore N5/Higher English is recommended.
Is there is an Exam?
There is no exam however there are three units assessed throughout the year and these are internally assessed and verified by the SQA.
Unit 1
3 x 250 word essays on the principles and theories of play
2 x 750 word essays of the adult's role in the sports environment and benefits of play.
Unit 2 - 3 x closed book assessments on health and safety in the sports environment.
Unit 3 - Two play sessions must be planned, led and evaluated but must complete 20 hours throughout the year.
