What will I Learn?
All pupils will develop a knowledge and understanding of how to identify a weakness within an activity and how to improve it.
It revolves around four factors (emotional, mental, physical and social) that can move through the cycle of analysis as you seek to understand and develop your performance in one activity.
What skills will I develop?
You will develop cognitive skills, physical competencies, personal qualities and physical fitness.
You will develop the ability to investigate, develop, adapt and evaluate your performance and training across a range of activities.
What could be helpful?
An interest and/ or participation in Physical Activities within or out with school.
To get your best mark in PE participation within a minimum of 2 different activities is highly recommended.
Is there is an Exam?
There is no formal assessment in S3 but your teacher will assess the work. This means there will be:
practical assessments
knowledge checks in class
throughout the year to assess where you are at and what is your best activities for S4.
What comes next?
In S4, you will all be assessed in 2 one off performances as part of the practical element of the course which is 50%.
All pupils will complete the National 3/4 booklet.
Majority of pupils will complete the National 5 portfolio which is 50% of the grade.

SfW N5 - Sport and Recreation
National PE is good for any careers in Agriculture, Sciences, Sport, Healthcare, Construction etc.
