What will I Learn?
You will learn about the fundamental equipment, rules/laws and skills of the chosen sport.
You will participate in learning that is centred around improving their ability in this sport.
You will then learn about the roles/responsibilities of a coach and develop their skills in planning and delivering sessions to pupils.
Finally you will then organise and officiate their own tournaments of the chosen sport.
What skills will I develop?
You will develop their knowledge and understanding of planning, preparation and delivery of coaching techniques through the chosen activity.
You will develop skills and qualities like organisation, confidence, resilience, adaptability, time management, communication skills, leadership, patience.
What could be helpful?
A strong interest in sporting activities.
Participation in a group activity/sport (i.e football, rugby, basketball, netball, hockey)
Pupils with the ability/confidence to lead others through activities.
Is there is an Exam?
No this is an internally assessed pass/fail course. To meet the pass criteria pupils will be assessed in 3 units:
Participation and PerformanceÂ
Coaching Development
Officiating and Organising
For each course there are minimum requirements that pupils must meet to pass the course
