PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) is a system that Midland Junior High and High School has in place to increase positive behavior within the school setting. PBIS is a framework for all involved, students and staff, that will integrate behavioral interventions that will enhance academic and social behavior outcomes for all students.
PBIS consists of three different intervention tiers:
Tier 1- Universal Interventions (80-90% of students)
Tier 2- Secondary Interventions (5-10% of students)
Tier 3- Tertiary Interventions (1-5% of students)
Respect, Responsibility and Personal Best are the three pillars that the Midland JH/HS focuses on.
Eagle Bucks are awarded for meeting expectations and exhibiting postive behaviors.
When Eagle Bucks are handed out by teachers or staff members, it is done at random and common language is used with students.
For example:
Thank you for showing respect and picking up the paper that your classmate dropped.
