Leprechaun Traps are officially under construction in the Library!! They will be constructed out of 1 empty tissue box, 12" of string. 12" masking tape, the bottom 1/3 of a water bottle, 1 cotton ball, and 1 piece of construction paper and a whole lot of imagination. From what I can see, the 3 Leprechauns in Watchung School should be worried. Once construction is complete the Leprechaun Traps will be strategically placed around the school. fingers Crossed!!
UPDATE ~ There was a near miss catching one of our Leprechauns in our Library! We will try again next year!
Our first graders created a "Monster Toy" using only a paper towel tube, 12" of string, 1 pipe cleaner, 2 cotton balls, 2 circle stickers, and a drinking straw. They were all VERY UNIQUE with their ideas.
Our 2nd graders are engaged in an 8 week STEAM Challenge. They are creating parade floats out of 3 cardboard boxes with their table groups. Critical-Thinking and Problem-Solving strategies are being emphasized.
Our Literacy-based STEAM Challenges will occur at least once each marking period.
They are designed to develop and enhance our Watchung Whales' Critical Thinking and Problem Solving strategies.
Be sure to check back to see what books we are using for our STEAM Challenges and what our projects are.
