ACS MIA Letter to Facilities

November 16, 2015

To Whom It May Concern:

In reference to the recent change in the American Cancer Society (ACS) guidelines for mammography. Medical Imaging Associates want to clarify their continued adherence to the guidelines set by the American College of Radiology (ACR), for mammography. If the ACR makes changes that coincide with ACS guidelines, further information will be sent out at that time.

Remind patients that it is important to discuss their individual health and concerns with their ordering physician. It is the responsibility of the treating physician to determine the best course of treatment considering each patient's individual circumstances.

As a facility, take advantage of this opportunity to increase awareness and educate the individuals in your community about breast health. October has ended, and even though it can be a crazy time for breast imaging, this is a great way to keep that momentum moving forward and increase volume in screening mammography.

Sincerely,

John J. Strobel M.D., President
