The Grog Shop is a smaller indie music venue located in Cleveland Heights. They primarily showcase original music while also coming up with creative new ways to entertain and attract new audiences. The week I visited, they hosted “Grog Idol” — a competition similar to American Idol — along with a baking competition and a comedy night.
I interviewed Kathy Blackman, the owner of the Grog Shop. She shared valuable insights on what it’s like to be an entrepreneur and what it takes to keep a small venue alive and thriving. She explained how she books shows, manages her team, and stays up to date with her audience.
